Premiere Clunker Tour 2010 I think it wold be a cool idea to have a 100 mile tour on bikes that have the following limits:

1. You have a firm 50.00 spending limit on the price of the bike.
You can get it at a garage sale, craigs list news paper, good will, etc. but you need some kind of simple receipt for the bike to enter.
2. You are allowed only the following upgrades, pedals if needed, new tires and your travel pouches kits f you have one, all that stuff.

We could meet at easy to get to central location in the US near an excellent 100 mile bike route and get started early.
Have about a 10 dollar entry fee to pay someone to follow in a van with extra water and some sandwiches and help people who give up out.

We could have three check points where people could fuel up or end their ride.
and make a big loop so the tourn ends where it starts.

What kind of bike would I look for? Maybe and old ten speed or even a three speed like I had in the early 70s

I did this 3 years ago.
Was a lot of fun. Nothing needed but friends and cheap bikes. No chase vans ect.
Here is the thread.

Ok, now that sounds like alot of fun. And those are some great pics ricohman! I think I'm going to run the idea by a ride leader in my cycle club.
