Hey guys, just finished up my kilo today. I'm 100% happy that I went with the quill stem in the end! What you think?

Very well done ... :thumb:
The quill stem is perfect along with the bars ... one suggestion, swap the saddle to white.

I think the blue cranks don't match the other blue parts too well.
get polished aluminum cranks.

and a white saddle

Yea the seat i was debating between blue and white and I think I chose the wrong one. The crank blue doesn't match perfectly, but it matches better in person. It looks even darker than it is in he pictures for some reason. Later on I may play with the seat and crank some more, but I just dumped too much money so I gotta cool it for a while and enjoy it lol.

Add white chain?

White chains are even worse than white tires in being fantastic at becoming non-white.

I agree totally with the tire part but not with the chain part, considering you can very easily wipe off the grime that builds up on the sides every now and then with a rag or whatever; the paint is usually durable and wont chip off so easily especially with the sides of chains not coming in contact with chain rings...

I had a white kmc bargain chain on my now retired peugeot conversion for around more than a year and it has stayed out of the box white on the sides despite a year of daily commuting.

Add white chain?

Thought about it but I felt like the colored chains give an overall cheap appearance. Dont think its for me right now but it may be an easy way to change something up in the future.

Daaaaaaaaaaamn, Illinois is way too far away. I wouldn't last a month. I went to school in Hoboken, NJ and wished I was in the city every day. Where in queens you live? BTW, the camera is a Nikon D90 and then lens is the 18-105mm. I recently got into the whole photography thing and love it. Never run out of things to take pictures of here.

i have alrdy begun cursing this place randomly haha, the locals dont appreciate it much.

and nice. but nikon really? ehh haha im using a t2i with usually an 85mm 1.8 or 50 1.8 on. you should try out some primes. theyre a whole lot of fun

and you know, one speed bike, one focal length lens. yay for minimalism

This is a common misconception. My white chain stays white and I've only thoroughly cleaned it once in the past year. Also, I never clean my white Rubinos and guess what?

Motorists and cyclists nearby will be severely blinded by your bike.

Just noticed this; are those soyo long grips? Beware they are notorious for causing nasty blisters..... if you didn't know already....

Hell yeah nikon lol. I think my next lens will most likely be a 50mm. Gotta cool the spending for a while now though :(

Hope your right lol. Even if they do get dirty I'm sure a quick cleaning could take care of it.

I'm pretty sure they were velos but I'll take notice and make sure to switch em out if need be. Thanks for the heads up.

what bars?

Not sure on the bars. There is no logo but the lbs guy said they were just generic steel risers but he recommended them because they would match the chrome much better than the aluminum silver late risers.

What stem is that? Origin8?

I agree with the others, a white saddle would look better than the blue.

haha i want to see the lock you have for that bike!

i think ive been spoiled here in il, been locking my bike with a 8mm coil all year and no problems.
then again, its a schwinn world tour conversion.

but i already have a mini u on its way to my house in ny for my kilo s3x. still wouldnt want to lock my bike up for too long.

i can just imagine turning around for a second and coming back to nothing but an empty bike rack in nyc.

Whenever I stop to eat during a long ride I always make sure its a place with outdoor seating, or at least a table with a nice big window facing my bike lol.

damn, do you have any idea if they have any more at your lbs? I've been looking for the right type of risers, the ones I just bought are too wide at the rise so I can't cut them down any further, and the ones I have that were precut at 390mm are way too narrow. I'm looking for something around 460-480mm and yours look perfect.
