Anybody know where I could find reasonably weather-resistant, fade-resistant US state flag stickers? Something around 2x1 inches would be perfect.

OK, weird question - here's the background: I'm getting ready for a cross-country tour later this spring, and I thought it would be a nice little motivational tool if I carried a set of state stickers with me that I could attach to my frame every time I crossed a state. Problem is, I can't find them anywhere. All I can find are much larger sizes that wouldn't work for this, or kids stickers that would peel off in the rain. So, any ideas?

Check a school supply store that caters to both students and teachers.

We have one in town that has bijillions of different stickers.

If you can't find them, let me know and I can check to see if they have what you need.

Thanks for the suggestion, Mike. In fact, I did find some at a store like that, but the printing is so cheap-looking that they almost look faded brand new. I'm afraid the Virginia sticker will be just a white rectangle by the time I get to Oregon.

I don't know about the states, but in Europe many souvenir shops often sell shield shaped metallic stickers, about an inch square to stick on walking sticks as an alternative to the type that have tiny pins. Just an idea...

I know nothing about doing this but maybe you could make your own with the variety of different materials out there. Maybe print up the flags from your computer (I'm sure there are clip files somewhere out in Internetland) onto sticker material but them put a laminate over the top of them so they won't rub off or soak up the rain.

The possibilities are endless. And there's always Kinko's.

You ought to check at RV supply stores. A lot of RVs I've seen have a map of the Cont. US and do as you're doing but on the back of the RV. I've seen quite a few, so I would assume that someone is selling the stickers and since they apply them to the exterior of a RV they must be fade and weather resistant!
