Hello, I am currently living in Portland. Its a nice place. Originally from Hawaii, I've been riding bikes for years (always hand-me downs), my family likes mountain biking. I'm more of a commuter, tooled around in flatland bmx when i was younger, but have been bussing around on a scraggly GT Aggressor. Not so great on the road! I'm busy looking into having a bike made here at a local bike shop, that fits me and my needs. I've been reading posts and reviews here for a while, so I figured I should register :) Would love to get more into bicycle mechanics, i'm a former airframe mech.

I'm in talks with my lbs to build a singlespeed w/ flipflop under a $450 budget. They seem confident that they would be able to build me something good. I've always had hand-me-down geared bikes and i'm just..over gears. My current commuter is stuck on a pretty high gear right now, so..why not singlespeed, i told myself?
