We were out on the bike trail this morning and saw the Garmin-Slipstream team going up the trail at the Arden bridge. We had another sighting of the LiquiGas Team further out on the trail at the Oak Ave. exit (near Beal's Point). Those guys are really fast. Very cool to see then up close as they train for the TOC. Any other sightings?

Rabobank was at the monthly Laguna Seca Twighlight ride last evening. Lars Boom and Tom Leezer were joined by team consultants Pedro and cycling great Hennie Kuiper. Locals participated in a 7 lap race around the 2.23 mile course with the Rabobank boys. There was also a one lap kid's race in which Boom rode along with the kids. Great fun for all.

I was on the ARBT yesterday as well. As soon as I passed the Fish Hatchery, Team Liquigas passed me going the other way with Robbie Hunter in tow. My route had me turn around at Sunrise and about 1/2 mile from Hazel Ave. who comes up next to me but Team BMC and George Hincapie. I hung on until the stop light at Hazel and took a couple of pics. As we were crossing over to the other side of Lake Natomas, Team Rabobank passed going the other way. George and Co. soon dropped me after hitting the flats after the dam. pretty cool seeing these guys up close and in their element.

What time of day have the sighting on the ARBT been? i commute on it but I am guessing to early coming in 6:30 and to late going home 4. I would not mind getting dropped by them.

I'd say between 10:30 and 12:30 would be your best bet

Lance and friend getting pulled over for impeding traffic in Santa Barbara the other morning. I got forwarded an e-mail. Supposedly the cop asked if they could ride faster.

Wow, what a ride today! Rode up to FolsomBikes and got a cup of coffee. Who should roll in but Team Liquigas! Here's me posing with the team.

Some of their bikes. The white one is Chicchi's.

My bike was mixed in with their's.

On the way back, I was caught and passed by 2 riders from Team RadioShack. I asked if I could draft for as long as I could hold on. I think they were amused. Holding on (at least for me) for 7 miles at 22mph sure put my cardio to the test. I think I can recalculate my LT now.
http://www.jspublications.net/images/bikes/pros/ViewWhenDrafting.jpg

They consented to a picture when I hit my turn off. Turns out, I was drafting Jani Brajkovich and Yaraslov Popovich (sp?).

Ended up with a 17.5mph avg and my fastest ride back from the shop yet. I've never done that 16 mile stretch in 40 minutes before!

A little bit after Liquigas left, Tom Boonan and the QuickStep team finished their ride.

Holy cow... we need a coffee cam streaming video from that place.
I'm surprised TB doesn't have rainbow trim on his undershirt.

Was out on the river trail today with my brother... :( No sightings.
This is his first time riding his new BMC, he would of got a kick out of seeing George Hincapie.

Thus far, these sightings have been on the American River Bike Trail. It runs from Discovery Park in Sacramento up to Folsom. Folsom Bike is where the coffee shop is. Lots of sightings there. Great shop too.

I'd say it took them another 20-30 min after you left before they showed up. They stuck around for probably 20-25 min.

Okay... screw it. My bike and I are going to my parents' house tomorrow.

I'm convinced this is my best idea yet.

I was out on a big group moto ride (Grape Crushers) Thursday, and saw the HTC Columbia team out on Hwy 1 southbound around Bodega (approximate, just following the other riders). We were northbound. I gave a quick honk and wave! :thumb: Would've made a u-turn if I was solo, but not possible being in a huge group.

Well I headed out this mornig from Sunrise to Discovery park. Saw a few teams out there all headed in the oppisite direction. Sighting were HTC, Cevelo, Bissel, Garmin, Rabobank, Radio Shack and a team I was not sure on red kits.

Was pretty cool and now seeing how fast they go by may just do the yard work tomorrow since I've seen alot of them.

There I was at the Tour in Sacramento. Nissan had a booth and a green screen. Who can resist? Not me!
