Mountain Biking - Aw jeez

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

Oh man, I'm sooo confused. Ok, I remember that someone told me that I should probably go with a Specialized front suspension... but I'm just confused. Ok, for those if you who don't know, I like to bike primarily on the trails. The trails that I go on have a lot of rocks, bumps that will give you whiplashes, and hills and what not. I'm looking at all of these sites and there's dual suspension, full suspension, front suspension, and hard tails... What's the difference?

Dual and full suspension are the same. Shocks front and rear.
Front suspension only and hard tails are the same too. Shocks in the front, no suspension in the rear. Hope this helps, DG

Your new bike. My opinion. Components can be upgraded as you where them out. I would make sure that I got the best frame for the money.
