I have a frame that a friend gave me a few years ago; I put it together with just random parts and have been riding it for community rides and such. He told me it was a 1944 Colson Commander (but its a woman's frame) from the pictures I have seen of colson bikes I think it is a Clipper though I'm not sure. Is there any information on parts lists I need to restore it? The only original part is the frame and it is unrestored; original paint (I believe) a british racing green colour. No stripes or detail work. I will post some pictures in a few days. Does anyone have some Colson parts they are willing to sell me?
Thanks!

Colsons are pretty valuable. Balloon tire cycle collectors rate them above many other makes. Original parts are going to be tough to find, and expensive.

I'd keep it as a rider and enjoy it as it is. If you bring it back to original condition with original parts, you'll have a lot of money invested in it and you won't want to ride it.
