Classic and Vintage Bicycles: What's it Worth? Appraisals and Inquiries - Cecil Behringer

I have a Cecil Behringer bike that I'm considering selling. Can anyone give me an idea what a fair price would be? Here's a picture. I can write down a more specific list of components if that would help.

This will probably get moved to the valuation thread. Cecil Behringer was not too well known, nice bikes, but not really a bike aware name, except his association with Pino Morrioni and his ability to braze ti, he made nice clean, conservative bikes. To get full value you need to locate a taller guy who knows the history, to others it will just be a vintage road bike. I saw a small one, with a probable mix of parts like this sell for under $400. a steal, but too small for me, this one is too big.

+1 Huge bike, which will sell at a huge discount. May be a part out situation, depending on the quality of the components. Components appear to be midgrade Shimano, close ups and a description would help, along with pics of any frame material decal.

Otherwise, the Classic Rendezvous mailing list at www.bikelist.org will have members whom might own one. They do show up on ebay but not very often, I have seen three, not to say there were not more. Read the list rules carefully before posting, but you will get some info from there. A search of the sir name on the CR archives will also bring stuff up for sure.

I'm the original poster, and I'm still around, but yeah you're right I don't really spend much time on bike forums. I've been too busy riding with my three-year-old on the bike trailer:

Sorry bbehringer, but I've sold the bike. I found a great person in Seattle that really enjoyed riding classics. The bike was a perfect fit for him and he was going to ride it daily as a commuter after he got it built up with some new components. Oh, and if anyone is curious the bike went for $600.

you should hook them up.......if your guy ever wanted to sell; it'd be nice for the builders grandson to get it.....
