Foo - Debating whether I really want to fight the crowds downtown to watch the ToC finish

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

Last year's format of the ITT was much better; this is lot '08 when the peloton circled the core 3x and finished. Upside - the weather is going to be decent compared to the rain in '08 and the cold in '09.
I don't know why I don't feel enthused about wanting to see it this year...

I went and had a good time. We had decent weather for the finish this year. Partly cloudy and 80ish. Last two years its been cloudy and rainy.

Glad you went. Wish I had seen this before you went. I would have told you to bring chocolate chip cookies to the announcer...
We went down with the kids. They enjoyed watching the riders rush by. Good fun.

being at an event is about the atmosphere. it almost doesn't matter what sport as long as theres a good turn out.

This was one of those weekends that there was just a ton of stuff to do or go watch... we had the In the Flow improvisational music festival all weekend, the Bicycle Film Festival, the ToC, Bay to Breakers in SF, a Bead Faire at Cal-Expo... I spent Saturday doing yard work, wasn't able to catch the ITF music fest. Wish I could have caught a bit.
