Thanks for the Months of Help you guys gave me. Because of all of your participation in the forums "I trolled, I read, I built." ....my girl is done.

So. She is a 2007 Pista. This has taken pain staking time to build because, other than one of the Rear cogs and the Chain, everything has been bought from craigslist. There are a lot of parts on this this. Down to even the fork.......
So over time I had been trolling this forum and read ALL of your posts religiously....when a part came on CL that I was interested in I immediately came here to do my research on it.

Ya!! who is also on this forum was a massive help as well.

So after months and Years of wanting to build myself a Fixed gear. This is it. Done.

Question, Why do Pista's sometimes have a negative connotation to them? They seem like fine bikes to me. v0v

i usually don't like that style of lacing you did in the rear. In this case i think it looks awesome. You got some nice clean twists in there, most of the time when people do that pattern it comes out all sloppy and the spokes look horribly warped.

Seems more logical to do that kind of lacing on a front wheel, but **** it, it looks nice.

If they were drop bullhorns sure, but there's barely any saddle to bar drop on the build.

seriously, you could put these parts on a d2 super pista and it would be right at home. give us specifics... how long did it take you to source all those parts from craigslist???

Random, but what's the fork he has there? It looks exactly like the one on my paddy wagon but in chrome and 1 inch steerer.... it would make my kilo tt owning friend's day as he totally wants a straight fork for his chrome stripper.

I've been riding road for a long time and my cousin, who is on this thread, got me into fixie.
I went to several LBS's looking and test riding bikes. But for some reason they didn't feel right to me. So for the first time in my life, i decided to be patient and wait for a bike to find me vs me finding it....that's when the trolling here took place and on CL. That started over a year ago.
First it started with searching out a frame. Wanted a pista, after looking at felts, treks, bare knuckles.......but the pista was always on the back of my mind. That and my cousin has a D2 Super Pista so I was wanting a Bianchi too(brother from diff mother).
So I looked and looked on CL...for months. Until one day I found a pista for sale in Houston. I met the guy in Huntsville at a star bucks and bought the frame and crank from him there. Instantly fell comfortable with it. As if it was happy to be with me. Btw. Previous owner was cool as he'll. He just wanted someone to take Care of her. He was adamant that I take care of her...
The wheel set was built in San Fran by supposedly a well known mech there who is known for his wheel making abilities. In total the wheel set the two cogs that came with it around 600 bucks. Took two months to get those together.
The new cog and chain i got for a good deal at 130 bucks. The bar tape I fizik bar tape 8 bucks. The seat that it came with was very similar to this one bug badly damaged, i found that in CL in Austin for 65 bucks.
The original badge on the front of the bike is from the 1950's. 25 bucks from CL...

There is a lot to this thing.

Under 800 bucks....wait plus the two nickels that are in the pedals.
All in all it was an adventure. Met really cool people in regards to finding all the parts. People in the community were very supportive in helping build and participate in this project. Lots of mechanics in ordinary bike shops were willing to help me put the bike together for almost nothing. Because, even though most of them work on vey expensive bikes all day, most mechanics ride fixed gear bikes or at least appreciate fixed gears. All very cool people.
