BIANCHI SQUADRA 12 speed in my area. It appears to be my size. Seller is asking 450 which seems damn high. Are they crazy?

Depends on the components on it and where you are located. I think (and bianchigirrl will correct me if I am wrong) that these guys have columbus tubing and came with Ofmega premier components. Hard to tell what's there from this shot. With the Ofmega components it is not worth $400. With Campy or DA in the right market, might get $400 if someone is looking for a purple Bianchi, but the color (non-Celeste) drops the value as well

minneapolis is the location. Im sure the price is way outragous. I dont think it has the campy componets. Not sure though.....i just want the frame. Ive been looking for a frame this size and this model \ style for months locally. I have a campy / shimano 600 group ready for it when i find it as well as a campy wheelset.

I can sell you this one has a mavic ma40 wheelset....it is an italian frame.....but that is about it.

Wonder why they say it's 90s? Those brake levers certainly aren't 90s. Unless there's some really crap RD and hubs on this bike, $450 is about right for my town. If it sits on their floor for a month or so, you could probably talk 'em down a bit. I doubt it will sit there that long if lugged steel love in the twin cities is half as strong as in Portland.

Shifters kinda look Dura Ace, which is promising, but kinda hard for me to tell.

Hello Scale, I can'r believe you haven't found a nice Bianchi frame yet. these bikes were kind of nice, but the stem on this one looks really high.

with this pic judging from the color (bluish?) the decal style, black brakelevers, calipers(?) and chainrings this looks like a '86. good call on the frasme "E" that should be a Formula 2 frame. the parts would be.. Modolo America brake with sinterized pads, Ofmega cranks, HS, Hubspedals and shifters and deraileurs, regina FW was stock along with Ambrosio Elite grey anodized rims.

can you get some better pics? while this is a nice bike I agree 450 seems high. I think the original retail would have been about 600 to 650 or so.

Hey "E" what size do you ride? I saw you were looking for Univega hybrid frame, is a 22" too big?

Ahh, considering the parts, I'd say $300-350 around here. But, hey, rent on the Antiques Shop probably ain't free.

I live in St. Paul.

$450 is too high, but $350 here is not.

If.

If the bike is super clean and ready to roll, I know three people that would be interested.

Especially at that frame size.

Again, compare the bike's cost to what you may find for a brand new bike in a local shop.

Think about comparing the bike to a $600 Specialized Allez.

Then the price is fair in my mind.

Does this one fit?

If you already have a gruppo, or if you want to put in some sweat equity, this one has some positives including price.

By the way, I looked at the Squadra ad just now, and the bike looks very clean.

i saw that one listed a couple days ago. I think it would be just a tiny bit too big at 54cm. I emailed him about the size and the stand over on it is 32 inches. Id need somthing 30-31 inches. I was very tempted however after much thought it didnt make much sense to buy another bike that wasnt the right size. I already have too many of those :)

Its hard to tell from the ad how clean the bike is. Im hoping they will send some addtional pics my way.

well the cranks say Bianchi on them only. THey dont give an indication of brand. The center dust caps say campy on them...so i can assume the entire crank is campy. THe chain ring bolt say ofmega. I guess it could be either given both names....

Front and Rear detrailuer are Shimano 600

I would not assume a crank is Campi, especially one that was 'rebranded'. Bianchi normally used Ofmega for it "Bianchi" branded cranks. anyone could have put Campi dust caps on an Ofmega crank. some closeups of the crank should solve any issues, are the chainwheel bolts Campi? someone likely switched the derailleurs to improve shifting, is it indexed? the shop that sold it may have done that.

The shifters are indexed. They look kinda Dura-Ace to me, but I can't remember what the 600 of that era looked like. It has a black ano big ring and silver small ring. Did all Campy BBs of that era have the round-notch lockrings? This one has square notched ring.

Looks like they're going to post it on the CL every day. Does one have to have 7 different email addresses to do that?

My mistake, it's still yesterday's posting that is up. I thought I saw it with a 17 next to it.

I must have missed the link or something. I never saw pics of the shifters or derailleurs. that crank does not look Campi to me, mor elike Ofmega or even SR

the only ronund notch lockrings on a Campi BB I can think of is the actual cups on the mid '90s BBs.

+1. Looks like an Sugino from here (Remember this one Bianchigirrl? ) This particular one came from a Bianchi Sports SX, about the same age as the OP's bike :

Also about the shifters. Highly unlikely that they are DA, (unless they are early DA) because 7400 DA DT shifters will not work with the 600 RD

well i guess i could trek down there when i get some free time. At that price it will still be there :)

Im curious to see if is my size or if i should actually be looking for a 52cm.

I dont know if the guy is willing to deal at all or not. Since it is at a antique shop my guess is it is a consignment thing. Mostly id be wanting the frame. Ive got campy cranks....new campy bb, campy wheels, shimano 600 headset......shimano fron and rear derailuer....
