The pic is the expedition grade tourer with only wheels, frame and racks. The rest were added by myself..

I should have been more specific with the title, but this pic is in reference to another thread starting with "Wife hands me $5K...."

This is a pic of one of Arvon's bikes and in the original thread there are several comments about Arvon's builds and about his dishless rear wheel. The pic is the one Arvon built for me and it was the one I used when going across the Savannah Way on the dirt and some pavement.

I don't have any pics of the bike itself when I rode it in touring mode - just several of me when fording some rivers that have no bridges...

Yup, life is strange. I have pics of myself pushing the bike across the river in Northern Territory, but don't even have one of the bike sitting against the bookshelf right now. Do you want one posted? If so, I will find my digital camera and take one. Landscape or portrait view? You decide - but, I don't do strange things ;-)

tmac - A guessing you are a monster of a man based on the frame size and 26 inch wheels on your bike.

Which looks great... will forward a picture to Arvon as he is always happy to see his babies.

He should be stopping by tomorrow or Friday as I have some small projects for him here... he has asked if I woukld act as his local agent and contact since he lives a ways out and hpw can one say no to that.

Will also have the opportunity to become his first apprentice as he said, at 75, he only has about 25 years left to teach me before he figures he will retire.

I am 6'5" and about 106 kg. I have a leg brace because of a fused ankle on my right foot and have thuis lost the use of muscles (for pedalling) below the right knee.

No matter, the bike performs well, and the wheels are incredibly strong: 4X lacing, 48 spokes and PW hubs. I am teasing myself with a Perth-Sydney proposed trip next June-August, but am starting to think about using my Greenspeed GTO on the 4200 km route simply because I can do more km with the GTO and also won't need the robust strength of the Arvon. Self-supported (again) I can only afford 42 days on the road - less would be preferable. Hence the GTO leanings..

Arvon sent me a diagram for my missing front racks and "shelf" and asked me to wait until the fall to send pics because of computer problems. If you carry the copies on a flash they will be fine. Send me a pm with a (I think) telus.net address and I can send 2 mb high resolution copies.
