hey im a new dude here and i just wanna know is there a special technique to tightening spokes, i have the tool, and all my spokes a loose, i heard u only do a 3/4 turn or something
Go to www.sheldonbrown.com and poke around for a discussion of this topic, it is a
bit broad for a brief post. Amount to turn spoke depends on how loose it and all the
other spokes are and ranges from 2-4turns down to 1/8th turn. The tighter the
tension gets the less effect the spoke wrench has on spoke tension, you have to
be aware of this and how to combat it and what the end point you are seeking is.

If they're all loose, try this:
1. Tighten every spoke until exactly one thread is showing. If you have a few where you don't see any threads, loosen them until 1 thread is showing.
2. Start at the valve hole and tighten every spoke the exact same amount and no more than 1/2 turn at a time. At some point, you'll have to switch to 1/4 turn.
3. As the spokes gain tension, at some point you will have to correct the wobble in the wheel. Do this by tightening and loosening opposing pairs of spokes the same amount. You correct for up-and-down wobble essentially the same way. Tighten spokes on one side of the wheel and loosen spokes radially opposite the same amount. You'll find up-and-down wobble much harder to fix. You may also have to tighten the right spokes on the rear wheel an extra full turn or so to correct for the gear cluster on that side and to center the rim in the bike frame.
4. When you're happy that the wheel is straight, squeeze parallel pairs of spokes as hard as you can stand to set the heads snug in the hub flanges. You may have to do a little minor trueing afterward.
5. Since your spokes have already loosened up once, put a tiny drop of green licktite on every nipple. Don't ride on the wheels for at least a couple of days to allow the locktite to set.

Is the wheel out of true? If not, then just tighten each spoke 1/8 turn, check trueness and repeat until spokes are tight. I was getting noise from my rear wheel, the tinging when tension is too low and I just tightened each spoke 1/8 turn and that was sufficient to get rid of the noise.
