I'm somewhat of a Texas Newbie and am driving from DFW to Houston this weekend. Any good bike related shops to stop on the way or in Houston? Anything that is a can't miss, like a Richardson Bike Mart or anything worth seeing?

You're kind of spoiled coming from Dallas, Richardson Bike Mart is really a one of a kind store.

Bike Barn on Kirby is kind of ok, but nothing on the scale of Bike Mart. If you're going to be riding and need to pick up anything there's plenty of stores to get you going, but nothing I would go out of my way to see.

if you are near downtown/medical center area, go to Boones Cycles. Interesting place! Call them and ask for directions.

Not too far. TX 59 S is adjacent to the ballfield. Head south on 59 S about a mile to the split with 288 S. Take 288 S a short distance to the very first exit (Southmore) and go past the stoplight to the next one (Binz). Turn right on Binz and go to the first Stop sign and turn right on Crawford. Go past first Stop sign and DB Cycles will be on your left, the second house from corner. There's some new condos directly across from it.
