I have a black schwinn vaoyageur in great shape except for cracked decals no rust or dents anywhere. Im curious about what it is worth. It has shimano atlas downtude shifters and derailers. A SR stem and SR custom seat post as well as sakae custom road champion bars. It has dia compe breaks and levers. It has a sugino supermaxy crank and 27" wheels with shimano via ed hubs. It has a chicago schwinn sticker as well as a sticker saying double butted 4130 chomoly steel top and bottum tubes. Any idea of the value of this bike.
Sounds like a Schwinn Voyageur 11.8 ?? Maybe from 1978 or 79?? Hard to say the worth without a picture.

Sounds like a 1980 Schwinn Voyageur 11.8. Is it a 12 speed? meaning 6 gears (gold colored) on the back and two on the front?

i have the same bike.............the "11.8" is the frame weight in lbs?
Ha! You wish! That is the total weight of the bike in kilograms which is about 26 lbs.
A 26lbs voyageur? Is that possible? Every old Schwinn I've picked up has been 40lbs-ish.
Oh yeah. The Paramount, Voyageur, Superior, Volare, Super LeTour, Circuit, models were all under 30 lbs. There were more too!
