I returned from stage 4 of ATOC and found a large box on my front porch, wasn't expecting anything but when I looked at the shipping label it was addressed to me, then I saw PSIMET and my heart jumped a bit. I've been waiting a little over a month for this, now to put it to work!

Now you have a moral obligation to improve your power output each week. Sounds like painful fun.

I think Powertaps are classified as torture devices under the Geneva convention.

Enjoy!

Just curious: after training with PT, would one race (or do A-events) without said PT given the added weight? Or is this a permanent uptick on the weight of the overall bike, regardless of training or racing/A-eventing?

You always want the power data so it's a permanent uptick in weight, at least for me.

Ditch the HR strap and get the Red cassette to offset heavier hub...

Depending on the hub and powertap, it might not be a big difference.

Example: A 105 freewheel weighs 353g +/-. A PT SL+ is just 412g. Sure, that's about the weight of 10 quarters...
But a Chris King R45 freewheel weighs all of 215g, and the $$$ PT SLC+ is 402g. Where the PT Comp is over 620g

New wheel and compact crank installed, while the old wheel was off I noticed there are rim rub marks on the inside of the frame, wonder how I was flexing that rim so much?

Pics or it didn't happen.

Of the rub marks or the new hub/wheel and crank?

Powertap, man! I have rub marks of my own from breaking a spoke. No need to see that....

I don't need a PowerTap to know my power output: Nowhere near enough.

Actually, it isn't the power output that is the issue for me, it's the power-to-weight ratio. Especially when the road tips up. :(

Honestly those few extra grams won't be the difference between staying with the pack and getting dropped.
On a side note, what kind of bazooka are you carrying with you to make sure you won't get jacked in Stockton?
