Hi
I'm in the Navy and stationed in Bremerton, WA and have been in just over 20 yrs. My Dad just recently shipped my 1984 Peugeot P-6 from back home in DE where it has been in the basement since 89'. It is in EXCELLENT condition and only needed some minor adjustments and some new bar tape. The tires and tubes are even still good with no dry rot and still hold air! I'm going to replace the tires soon with something from this decade....they are Schwinn Passage 27 1 1/4 on there now... Any ideas? I'm using this as a commuter on base to and from work. Bought some Testors model paint today for the few scratches that are on it.... it still has wax from back in the day when I used to wax it... yes I did that. I think it helped preserve it! Anyway I know that the Peugeots are a lost or dying breed.... mine rides great but I think I will replace the rims/tires with something more modern. This bike is stock. I will post picts in the future. The rims have some dings and are a little wabbly. The local bike shop suggested buying some alluminum ones from a thrift shop..... Its a commuter bike and I don' t race or anything. Any ideas?
Thanks
