That reminds me of a good children's book (http://www.amazon.com/Counting-Frank-Clement-Author-Illustrator/dp/0836803582)

Canned peas are horrible. Salty. Waterlogged. Mushy.

I get frozen peas instead. Rinse them in cold water, toss them in a pan with bit of fresh water, salt, pepper, pat of butter. Cover and turn up the heat. Boil only until it starts steaming. Drain and eat. Much, much, much, much better than canned. Much.

Le Sueur canned peas are pretty good and available in most markets. The better frozen stuff, also available most anywhere is even better.

Add approx 1Tbsp of butter and 1tsp of sugar to them as you heat them up.

They're OK in beef soups and stews and along with tuna in mac n cheese.

I just won't eat them alone as a side unless I'm starving. Frozen peas are my limit.

My mom used to make creamed peas on toast (http://www.recipezaar.com/recipe/Creamed-Peas-On-Toast-9822). My youngest sis still shivers at the mention. I didn't mind but it really is better with the frozen.

Yes.
Puree them.
Batter and deep fry some Halibut.
Deep fry some fresh cut potatoes, skin on.
Place all on a plate so that nothing touches the peas.
Eat the fish with lemon, the chips with malt vinegar and salt.

Do not eat the peas. They are for effect only.

I drain them, zap them briefly in the microwave, drizzle with olive oil and dust with lemon pepper. Surprisingly tolerable this way.

Mom??

That's right, Boy! Now you'll eat those peas and you'll like them. There are starving people in China! If you don't eat them, there will be no butter tarts for you,eh? Now have at'em!

I eat my peas with honey
I've done it all my life
It makes the peas taste funny
But it keeps them on the knife

Yummy- that's a great breakfast, but instead of the worcestershire, I use this:

Sorry, there is no way to make canned peas taste like anything but canned peas. I grow my own and freeze them. Hard to beat fresh peas and new potatoes in white sauce. Yummy! I can hardly wait.
