Introductions - introductions

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

New dude here.
Bikes: MTB: GT STS Thermoplastic Dual suspension bike
Road: Litespeed Tuscany
Cannondale R600 Aero
Age: 30
Other: Don't like riding with other people because it screws up my training regiment....it just turns into some male pissing contest of who's the baddest...bad for structured training.
I don't ride my bike because its fun. I ride so that I won't feel the need to destroy or beat down anyone that piss me off...one word: Catharsis. Fringe benefit: my family can stand being around me.

Well, welcome to bikeforums anyway! How do you like that Litespeed? I almost purchased one acoupleof years ago, drooled over for sometime before I convinced myself I had enough road bikes.
BTW, the word is regimen. A regiment is a military unit. Have fun riding alone!
eschelon: I ride alone most of the time cause there are no cyclists in my neighborhood. :( I'd like to have a riding companion or two. I have to do group rides to find someone to ride with. And it seems there are different folks riding every time, so I never get to know anyone very well. :(
Gus: You should have asked sooner. I bought a Litespeed Tuscany last April.
LOVE IT.

Hi!!
I enjoy riding by myself, but for different reasons. Not being much into "training" I simply enjoy the peace and being my own boss, setting my own pace, stopping and starting when and where I want.
Enjoy the forum.

D*Alex - perhaps he DOES have a training regiment? Possible. Anyway, thanks for the correction. I know that I and others would never have figured out that he meant regimen without your assistance. Appreciate it very much.:D

Welcome...
I have a regimine also;
I ONLY RIDE ALONE, OR WITH FRIENDS, OR ON DAYS THAT END IN "Y"...
Funny, I never thought of the bicycle as a substitute for Valium... mmmmm.
eschelon,
I like that word, catharsis. I ride the same way a lot too.
I find I ride alone a lot too. My cycling partner packed it in for the winter. I trust he'll be back out in the spring. We pretty much match eachother in ability. I don't have the attention span to stick to a training schedule. Neither does he.
The only other people I ride along side from time to time are cycling advocate types who tend to ride at a pretty casual pace but at least they generally stick to the road. They make up for the casual pace in organizing and engineering ability.
