I am!

I'll be heading off to work today, knowing that I'll be earning my living and being productive. Sure, I'd like to be off today to go and play but I know that I do get my days off and that is the time to do other things. I'd rather be employed than not and I'm very fortunate to be able to claim that. My body is able and my mind is still relatively there so I can go to work and function to the expectations that are needed to perform my job.

Work hard, be honest, and give what you can to others. Go with the flow.

It's a beautiful day. Go live. :)

Doesn't it feel great to get out there? It was pretty blustery yesterday, I wanted to get out but when there were branches falling, I figured I'd spend some play time with the doggies. Lake Chabot...doesn't that have certain days that bikes are allowed or did they ease up on that?

I feel like a positive pile of crap. Monday night I erupted into a Sinus Infection. Raw sinuses, phlegm, pus filled eyes and all that. By Friday it made its way into my ears and glands in my neck, clogging my hearing and leaving me half deaf and in a lot of pain. I finally went to a doctor and am now on Antibiotics, antihistamine , eye drops and cough syrup. During all this that last two days I forgot to take my reqular meds and now feel like crap from that too. I'm real close to wishing I would die. I feel like I am about to.

Life is good. Learning to live life a little better each day. Spent the morning painting stairwells and cleaning A/C strainers at church. Then stayed for a church picnic with the family, then a nap, then coaching T ball, then pizza with my boys, followed by walking the dogs and catching fire flies. Wife is off tonight at girls night out, so boys are in bed and I am having a vodka tonic and some foo.

Yeah Siu, there are worse places to be than at work. Thanks for your spirit, it is not unappreciated.

i feel crappy right now. But in a little bit I'm gonna try to get on my bike and if there's no more pain, then I'll go for a nice short pootle to the swap meet for some clothes shopping. That will cheer me up, I think.

Bikes are allowed all the time, it can get crowded, but the farther you go the fewer hikers.

That's always nice getting a discount, I love surprises!

Speaking of surprises, I got in the mail yesterday a gift from the ...uh....hang on, lemme go look. ~

The Benchmade Collector Secret Society, Down Under Chapter. But the address says it came from Tennessee.

It was a Benchmade folding attache carry case for my knives. :)

Didn't know this society existed. Found out they send gifts to those that shown a true interest in Benchmade knives and apparently they know enough about me because the pockets in the attache are the same amount of the Benchmade knives I have.

I had my friend who does not even like to get his road bike dusty, following me through the woods carrying our bikes over rocks and branches. It was fun.........ny.

I am now feeling positively dizzy and deaf after my ear infection. I hope they go away. The rest of the sinus infection pretty much did. A little coughing remains.

In the meantime my wife has decided that's it's not fair that I am not taking her out to eat, so she's starving me. Actually our eating patterns differ. I am big breakfast, light lunch and a small dinner; she's a snake - one big meal a day. She makes a huge dinner, knowing I won't eat much so she can eat it all. Of course, if the other meals are available, she gobbles those down too.

You know, the last time I was really sick, I went back to work way too early just to get away from her. Right now I don't know if I can make to work or stay upright all day. I almost wrecked my car yesterday, going out for Tylenol, I certainly cannot ride a bike.

i'm really proud of myself today.

I made a little girl cry. I was stuck in a traffic jam and a bus was next to me. A little girl of about 3 or 4 years old was waving at me from the bus so i waved back. Then i stuck out my tongue at her and pulled a face. next thing i see her burst into tears. her mum was laughing. I drove off fast.

Why is a road bike in the woods?

About 30 miles on pavement to a locked chain link fence gate. We only had to go about 100 feet off road to go around the end of the fence in the woods. But it was dense woods and rocky, with thorny bushes of some kind.. We all made it with no ripped roadie gear. No scratched CF forks. I did get dust on my Ghisallo, I guess I can't take it to Starbucks until I clean it.

More importantly, will a bear **** on it?

If a road bike falls over in the woods and there are no road nazis around to hear it, does it make one a fred?

1) Gate,
path to left into branches,
roadie Mike. I guess he's a good sport for not complaining.........no wait.........I'm positive he is.
2) paved road in old farm.

I woke up this morning in a bit of pain from yesterday's over-exertions at work; after getting the kids on the bus, I got on the bike, rolled out for the longer route to work (live 2 miles away, picked the 5-miler today). Except for part of the MUP being flooded out, causing a U-turn and an extra mile, the morning commute was flawless.

By the time I got to work, the back pain was gone, and stayed gone all day!
