Introductions - Newbie here, not to cycling (just ask my knees)
Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

Hi, everyone. I found this site while browsing a local bike website and decided to join. I am not an elite cyclist by any means, but I've been riding for almost twelve years and love it. I'm 48 years old, overweight despite regular cycling ventures and gym visits (my metabolism went on permanent vacation when I quit smoking) and ride a patched-together 1985 Schwinn that the local titanium big-shots laugh at. Let 'em laugh, my ride has outlasted ten years of hard road mileage, one (minor) crash and one marriage. :p I ride roads and trails, average distance 20 miles @14-16 mph. I look forward to hanging out and discussing my favorite obsession with like-minded folks. Nice to meet you and be safe out there! :thumb:

Hi, 10 Wheels, thanks for the fast reply. Nice family. :)
Here's a recent shot of my bike. Sorry for the poor quality, my camera is crap. The specs are totally uninteresting, though I'll list them if anyone's interested; half original components, half new or NOS. Yes, it's a step-through, I'm short!
(I'll try to get better pics on my next ride)
Thanks for the "fat folks" forum recommendation. I've given it a look already. I'll definitely fit in there... all 200-and-too-many pounds of me! :)
