The luster of my '04 Axis is fading. Just a few things I can think of to nit about: sloping top tube means less frame opening for shouldering, carbon fork and Shorty 6's = brakes squeal without huge toe-in, square taper BB is flexy, triple crank is a waste, and the seatpost cable routing doo-hickey on the 49cm is just lame.
Here's what I'm build for this upcoming season. It's scandium, not as durable as 7005 aluminum but it's featherlight and I got a good deal on it.
I was.. Until I found a much better deal in a Soul. :) If you are really considering that Axis, consider a Soul. ;) www.ridesoul.com
Are the Soul's released? I am sponsored by them, but havent heard if they are available.
Yes they are. Call and ask for Chad (He's usually the one who picks up) ;)
Bad ass bikes; I am getting mine before they release to the public. For around the same price as that Axis you can get a boat load better bike. My bike is going to be bad ass; pretty much everything on the bike is better than the Bianchi.
Is the Monk aluminum? Whats the weight?

What's it gonna have? Frame-wise and components spec.
I posted my build sheet not long ago. Look for 2005 Soul Monk. It is aluminum, however, I forgot the specific weight. :)

linky!
I called and asked about the weight; they are getting back to me. I left a message.
Hmm, I think i found my new CX frame thanks to you. Is Soul builidng the bike for you?
Yes they are; in fact, they really only mark their componants up by about 10 percent. Very nice guys. ;) Tell them I sent you, please. I priced out this bike and if I were paying retail it would be about 2 grand or so. I was initially only going to buy the frame, as well. But they made me a deal I could not refuse!
when i ordered my '04 Axis this past spring, it took at least 6 weeks for it to arrive at my LBS. well worth it, tho. damn nice ride.
