Foo - Website Pop ups even though I have pop up blocker on
Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

Seems like I'm getting a boatload of popups for sites like amazon.com when I go to various sites even though I have pop up blocker turned on. Any idea what this is?
It's very annoying and it certainly doesn't make me want to use amazon.

What browser are you using?
Have you run any sort of malware scanning program recently?

Lift your manboob off the control key.
You probably got spoofed and downloaded some sort of brower extension that allows pop ups for certain sites. Just a thought. Go to malwarebytes and download their free version and do a scan.

Yep.... Malwarebytes worked for me when my son downloaded some scareware several months ago. Sadly, I couldn't get the $100 back that he had paid for the scareware. (I told him to chalk it up to a life lesson.)
If you ask nicely, I will think about giving it back. At least I told you about Malwarebytes after you paid up.

Yep, sounds like malware to me. MalwareBytes or something similar should take care of it. I've found prolific popups with popup protection enabled are usually a result of malware. You should get into the habit of running a quick scan at some interval; I do it weekly.
