BMX - New BMX movie in the works.

I don't know what the details are, this isn't even a trailer. They still have to film the movie but this is essentially a demo to show the idea that they're working with.
Could be lame, could be awesome, will probably be a bit of both. Can't wait.

I'm going to have to say that this is very much a trailor and is footage from the movie. Not trying to be mean but that's just obviously the case. It is kinda cool that they are coming out with a bmx, but I probably won't see it unless I'm bored at home one day and its on the tv. Haha I think the closest thing I seen to a bmx movie is the quick seen from one of the transporter movies

It is an indie film. Isn't going to be in theatres and doubt it will be on TV any time soon if ever.

Umm, at the end theres a note explaining that they will be shooting this summer. So while this very much has the appearance of a trailer, it's more like a pre-production trailer. Basically all these scenes were filmed in order to generate some buzz/funds to film the real thing. Although it does really look like a trailer... It may actually be. But the note at the end suggests that they hadnt yet filmed the actual thing yet and that also means that anything can still change including the cast.
Seriously man, my girlfriend is in film school and all that shizz...;) She actually shoots a fake trailer every other week or so and creates a pitch for it and everything.

It wouldn't be hard to distribute it through a BMX company. It would then quite easily sell all over the world in shops. And there's also a yearly bicycle film festival, I would imagine this would be entered in that as well. THe film festival travels all over, giving tons of people the opportunity to see it, if they want. In fact I'm pretty sure I'll eventually see this, and I don't think I'm going to have to go out of my way to see it.

It's kind of like the Grind of the BMX world.

Maybie I'm wrong, but it seems like a lot of acting and filming to make a trailor to just show an idea. Ill bet this is footage from the movie, they might be no where close to finished, but it just seems like a waste to do all that for a trailor.

Absolutely. I was just addressing those who said that it being indie would mean that no one will see it. Even if no one wants to distribute this, it could still be distributed the same way skate/bmx vids are distributed. That means bmxers would still get to see it. Regardless of how they distribute it, I'm sure it will be available at BMX shops all over. Hell, my local bmx shop sells signed copies of RAD! But yes, there are far better ways of distributing Indie films.

On the note of filming a trailer, most independent films have a concept trailer shot first. Often the trailer is used before final casting decisions have been made. That trailer is used, along with budget and profit projections, to make presentations to potential investors. It's also used, sometimes, to attempt to lure big name actors the project couldn't normally afford to participate in the filming, simply because they like the film. Ever see a trailer, then watch the movie, and notice that lines in the two don't always line up, or there may be scenes from the trailer that never actually happen in the movie? Those shots are often taken from the pre-trailer that was shot before the script was finalized.

As for the film itself, I kept asking "what's that 2x4 doing on screen? Oh, that's his acting!"

Vivienne VanHorn will be Jordin Reilly
Bill Allen (Cru Jones in RAD) will be playing Phin’s dad, Tim.

Even though Joel is a sponsored rider (Terrible One and Empire), his stunt double will be Scotty Cranmer. Scotty is stoked and will also be appearing in the film as himself.

Other riders appearing: The Catty Woods locals, Van Homan, Garrett Reynolds, Garrett Byrnes the Animal Team - as well as a bunch of pros from around the world.

I don't think I've ever seen like 15 different movies rolled into one terrible concept about a kid who sprains his wrist.

Ever see the terrible Aussie film "The BMX Bandits" (1983) starring a very young Nicole Kidman?

As bad as that film was it probably jump started the whole BMX industry in Australia

I liked BMX Bandits. I found it to be hilariously funny. Was way better than RAD (IMHO.)
