Ok, so, I just got slicks for my GT Outpost mountain bike, and it rides smooth as anything. Feels lighter and more comfortable.
So, my question is, did I just turn it into a performance hybrid? I can't take it off road anymore..... well, I can, but not for some serious off road riding, which I can't do here in Central Florida anyway.
So, what do I have now? A mountain Bike with slicks, or a Hybrid?
What's the difference?

You have really uncomfortable hybrid or a fast castrated MTB, take you pick :innocent:

Actually, the most comfortable bikes Ive ridden are hybridized MTBs.

LOLing at the "really uncomfortable" part, as it is extremely comfortable.

Other than the miniature wheels, that's a really nice looking bike......

In the mid-Eighties when the MTB was a fashion accessory, the roadies in London used to chortle at guys shoving huge knobbly tyred fashion-accesory MTBs along the streets. Now, skinny slicks on 26" wheels are suddenly cool. Congrats, it makes a fine fast urban combination and saves the world from a little consumerism. Not that I can talk...
