Hi all,

New member here. I just picked up a Kona Dew. Nicest bike I have ever owned. :) I usually just rode my dad's old Kumahara (spelling?) rigid-fork MTB around town and such. I wanted something of my own to ride to the rock climbing gym with schol, or down to the LBS or music shop :p I have the usual accessories on the Dew. (Rear rack, fenders, bar ends. I'm getting a computer and some gloves for my B-Day in a couple days.)
Any other accessories you think I should get?

And, question 2, how do you guys get motivated to go out for a solid ride, just for the sake of going out for a solid ride? I can never seem to bring my self to saddle up and peddal away..

Thanks guys,

Ryan

Other accessories? How about lights (front and rear) if you're riding at night or early morning or evening.
Question#2: All of my rides are just saddle up and go for 25-40 miles.

Stuff to fix flats. Pump, tube, patch kit, tire levers, something to put them in.

A good U-lock and cable.

Regarding motivation, I find that having your bike easily accessible and ready to ride helps. No excuses. Also I know I'll feel better.

If out for a fun ride for the day, go in the direction the wind is coming from. Then you will have an easier ride back home with the wind providing half the power. I also have a bag like this for carrying raisins/crannberries and my camera. http://www.rei.com/product/724938

Good U-lock.

I just go out and ride, and by the time I get to the end of the block, I have a big smile on my face and I'm glad I went.
