Open to all price ranges if it's (Assos) worth it. Currently using Pearl Izumi shorts and consider them "OK". I'm 6'@' and 215 lbs if it makes any difference. It was 50 here this moening and it got me thinking.
Thanks, Larry

I'm interested also ... and to add another question, which are more practical - long cycling tights with chamois or long tights without (that you would presumable wear oer a pair of reg. shorts?) ...

i like to keep things more modular, so to speak, and wear fleece tights (PI therma fleece) over my shorts. they're relatively inexpensive, as these things go, warm, fit me well and held up well last winter.
if it's really cold, i'll add knee or leg warmers under the tights, as well.

I bougth the nashbar bibs without padding so I would not need 5 pairs. but they have a hole in the crotch after one season. I am not sure the leg warmers would be as good on colder days.
I have had a Nashbar Windrider tight, and like it a lot. In a heavy rain the water will seep through the seams in a half hour. When it gets genuinely cold, it's not enough. But for fall and even sometimes in early winter, it's a very nice tight. Here's the catch, I haven't tried any other winter tight, so I don't have much basis for comparison.

I do have knee warmers - they are awesome, but I prefer them in situations where the weather is going to change - ie - I ride to work when it's 55, and it's 75 when I bike home, etc.
