Okay so i'm looking to get a new hybrid, but short on cash has left me stuck between two bikes that I like.

1. 2007 Raleigh Route 24-Retail $600...but on sale for $349!! Brand new!!

-OR-

2. 2009 Diamondback Insight 1-Retail $420...but on sale for $329

I like both bikes, but undecided what I should invest in. I mainly ride paved trails and streets, with the occasional bumps in the road. I have rode the Diamondback Insight and it feels good, but haven't riden the Raleigh Route 24, due to no LBS have them and I found a great deal on the net.

Any Suggestions. I live in Colorado, biking maybe 30 miles a week tops and weight about 220:eek:

I have no experience with the Raleigh bike, however I have owned the DB Insight 2 for 2 years and I'm very happy with it. No breakdowns during regular 20 mile trips. The DB is very light in weight, I bought it over the Trek 7.3 FX.

The components used in the Raleigh bike are definately superior to the Diamondback.
The Diamondback has a mountainbike drivetrain whereas the Raleigh has a road drivetrain.
For 20$ more, I wouldn't hesitate a second.
