I used to ride a MirraCo BMX but then my back started to hurt.. I ditched the BMX...

Now I'm using my friend's Mongoose walmart mountain bike, the left pedal loosens and falls off now...

So now I'm in the market for something semi-decent. What's a good bike to get? I miss doing tricks so I would like to get a fixed gear bike.

I was searching ebay for fixed gear bikes and found some fixed gear bikes that "look" nice, but I know nothing about these generic bikes.

There's a lot around the $250 shipped range with good feedback, but who knows what their opinion is after a year of wear and tear?

If there is a reputable shop I would also consider buying online if I can get something nice for the same price.

Are there good fixed gear brands that are cheap. Are the fixed gears on ebay decent? Has anyone purchased one, and if so were you happy with it?

What brand / ebay seller do you recommend.

Thanks for the help!

I think most who pop in here will agree, but drop in to bikesdirect.com. The Kilo TT overall is the best bang for the buck..

The Motobecane Track from BD is $280 and is a pretty darn solid bike. The Kilo, like Cjzoller suggested, is $360 right now and worth the extra $80 if you can spring for it.

I'd go with bikes direct (http://www.bikesdirect.com/products/trackbikes.htm) before ebay.
+1 on the Motobecane Track.
