I've emailed OLN and TSN at various times to try and point out that there's an interest in cycling in Canada and have never received any reply, It's hard for me to understand that the brass at TSN in particular can see an audience for darts and five-pin bowling but not the Grand Tours of cycling.

OLN replied and yes, they will carry the 2010 Tour

OLN is only carrying the live coverage this year, no repeats, no evening show. It seems like they're just trying to get through the Tour as cheaply as possibly. It starts in less than a week and yet there's no information on their website, no press release outlining their coverage. And don't get me started about their unwillingness, or inability, to secure some kind of arrangement with their Rogers' big brother, Sportsnet, to give us the HD feed VERSUS viewers have been enjoying for two years. Major sporting events in square-screen SD is soooo 2004.
OLN is a joke, especially since they were acquired by Rogers.
The Tour in HD would be a nice fit for TSN2-HD, or maybe even Bold-HD. As would Versus' Cyclism Sundays, another program which OLN refuses to pick up to build the audience for cycle races.
Better yet, how about a North American version of Eurosport, to bring us coverage of all those sports that don't necessarily involve a stick and ball.

Anyone know where to watch the Tour online that will work for IP addresses in Canada?

You might find something here (http://www.steephill.tv/tour-de-france/). In races earlier this season, the SuperSport feed from South Africa wasn't usually geo-restricted and reasonably reliable. You also may have some luck syncing the Eurosport english audio feed with a non-english video feed.

Looks like OLN has finally acknowledged the existence (http://www.oln.ca/tourdefrance/) of the Tour.

Just found this (https://tracker.versus.com/signup), and it looks like it's available to Canadians.

OLN sucks.

Indeed. You'd think they'd at least have the decency to respond to questions. But better to ignore and then show repeats of Mantracker. I've signed up for the Versus tour tracker. It's been great so far. I guess OLN doesn't want its sponsors to be seen by me.

As Facebook is sometimes able to influence decision makers, there is a group started to try and bring back the prime time coverage.

Don't bother. Word from the editor at Canadian Cyclist (http://www.canadiancyclist.com/dailynews.php?id=19558) is that OLN is dropping the Tour after this year. Seems they're more enamored with programming like Operation Repo and Manhunter. Ugh.
Article goes on to speculate that the Tour might get picked up by a new national version of Sportsnet that is to be launched in the near future. If that pans out, we may finally get to see the Tour in HD.
