My wife and I rode the incomplete version of this walkway twice last year. It was a really enjoyable ride both times, but we're really looking forward to visiting again when it's complete. Can anybody update me on this ped & bike route from Hoboken to Liberty State Park?

Last year, we had to take the road from Hoboken to Newport, where the path was on again-off again all the way to the park. Riding through the neighborhoods was fun, but we've been there and done that now.

Is it time to come back?

Going south, the walkway is finally complete from Hoboken train station to Newport / Washington St in JC. The rest of the pathway can be picked up again at the Hyatt and you can take that down to Goldman Sachs. There are some spots in between the train station walkway and the Hayatt, but it is still patchy and tricky. If you are looking for a shortcut to LSP there is a walkway at the end of Jersey ave if you want to avoid going through Greenville. ;)

i live right near the complex that the Biergarten is in. as stated above there is a walkway from the end of Jersey ave that drops you off right by the marina in LSP. it is super convenient. in fact they recently just repaved that a few weeks back.

i rode the bike/ped path from hoboken terminal to JC and it was easy peasy, no more having to ride over marin blvd. - which wasn't that bad to me, although other people i know say they just don't want to cross such busy roads, but really it's not bad. but hey, now there is a solution.

The only walkway I know of is the wooden path that goes over the little bridge at the end of Jersey Avenue. Is this the one you are describing? If so, has it been paved since I rode this way last summer?

Cool. Are there still detours off the walkway between Newport and Liberty State Park, or is the entire walkway completed now?
