So the Bike Snob finally wrote a book. I keep up on his blog and find it amusing. If you like his blog you will enjoy this book. The snob rarely shares his passion and love for cycling in his blog. The book, in which he attempts to systematically and mercilesssly realign the world of cycling he speaks of his passion for cycling and cycling culture. He has a few insider jokes that only cool people like me understand, but it also opens up the world of cycling to non-cyclists. He seems to have finally got over his juvenile fear of "selling out", and simply poking fun at bikes and people that don't live up to his sensabilities. Although he does some of that, it's very clear that the "Bike Snob" is just a catchy handle. Not some kind of fender loving elitist prick.
I'm not much of book reader but I couldn't put it down. It's an effortless read. It has some good illustrations. It's also pretty hilarious. Go buy this book. Do it. Now!

Wow. This post has been simmering for over four hours. Not one post? Now I have to pull a pcad and comment on my own post?

I realize that it was my review, my opinions, and didn't leave any questions to answer. But still. This is foo. Use your imagination. Say something. Anything.

Maybe something like. Who's bike snob? or That was a dumb review. or Maybe I should check it out cause there is very little (or any) clever, entertaining books written about cycling.

Or you could let this go down as the first thread in foo history to sink faster than Floyd Landis's integrity.

I think the problem is that it's actually cycling related. Nobody really rides bikes in here.

I have ridden a bit the last two nights. Got in 8 miles on Tuesday and 12 miles last night.

I was cranky at him when he mocked one of my bikes, but all is forgiven. The guy is funny and has great insights. Not sure if I'd buy the book though...will have to thumb through a copy if I see it.
