1. Do you like it?
2. Does it fit you?
3. Do you think it's worth 500 bucks?

If you answered yes to all three of those questions, buy it.

I definitely thought this was going to be sewing question.
And yes, you should buy the bike. See if you can talk the seller down any for the fun of it, eh?

The pictures are terrible. Why doesn't the seller make photos in a high enough resolution so you can see if the frame is undamaged, etc. I would be very suspicious about the bike without checking it in person.

I was half serious.
This is not exactly a stellar deal but it is not a crap deal either. I'd definitely talk him down to around 430 or so.

at the point of asking BF "should I buy it?" you already know the answer inside your head, so there's really no point in us convincing you otherwise.

DOES IT FIT GREAT?
If so then talk him down to whatever you can an pull the trigger. Good bike at a slightly higher than average price, then again if it fits well and you love it and its in a condition you deem worthy, then its a great price.

Are you planning to doing some sewing? If so, then yes, buy some thread.

Even if you're not planning on doing any sewing, its always good to have some thread around just in case.
Earlier this week I split my favorite pair of riding pants. Sewed them right up and was on the road 10 minutes later.
On my SS of course.
True story.
