When I purchased my bike, I requested that the stock tire (Vittoria Zaffiro) be replaced with Continental Gatorskins. The LBS did that replacement for me.

I notice that the tire has the following mark on it: Continental Gatorskin Poly X Breaker. There is no size designation and no PSI recommendation.

I've searched the web and cannot find this tire. I see Ultra Gatorskin, Gator hardshell, Sprinter Gatorskin, etc. But no plain Gatorskin. The tire tread on my tire and the yellow crosshatch on the sidewall look the same as the Ultra Gatorskin, but the Ultra is missing.

Since there is no PSI marking, I'm not sure what the correct tire pressure should be. And, since I can't find the exact match on the web, I'm not sure if the Ultra Gatorskin PSI recommendation applies to this tire.

Please let me know the recommended and max PSI for this tire if you know or have one. My tire is a 700x28c. My bike is a Felt Speed 30.

Thanks!

You got the Ultra Gatorskin. That poly-x breaker just describes the technology or whatever in the sidewall (that reddish weave). You probably have the 28c size, but you can double check by looking for "622x28c" or whatever your size is. Here is a link to the tire in question:

This photo shows where you can find the size. In this particular photo the tire is a 25c.

Thank you for the responses. I've attached a picture of the sidewall. I don't see any mention of the size or tire pressure recommendation. And "Ultra" is missing. (The two bright yellow dots are reflective stickers that I've stuck on the tire. They don't conceal anything.)

My apologies for responding to myself.

I went to REI to check their Ultra Gatorskin tire. Although the sticker says Ultra Gatorskin, their tire also says just Gatorskin. So, this is probably the new design.

As far as PSI, size, etc., it is obscured by the yellow crosshatch pattern. Held to the light, the text appears. 120psi is the max.

Thanks!

Glad you got it figured out!
