I keep looking at bicycle specific tools and most just don't seem well made, who is the Snap On of bike tools?

park tools and pedro's.

but they both have some tools that are beaten by other makers, or are just plain junk.

park cone wrenches, I hear are no good.
shimano cable cutter, is the best cable cutter out there.
I think it was FSA that makes the best spoke tensionmeter.
hozan lockring pliers are really good, better than wrenches, from what I hear.

Var comes to mind as snap on quality, but their consumer grade tools are no better than any other consumer grade tools you can buy from nashbar or pricepoint.

I like Var tools, but they are hard to find.

For bike-specific tools, these are some of my favorites:
* Eldi pedal wrench
* Shimano 32mm headset & cup and cone BB set
* Shimano cable cutters for casing
* Felco cable cutters for inner wire
* Rhode Gear/Spokey for spoke wrenches
* Hozan 3rd hand tool
* Bondhus allen wrenches
