I am doing my first cross build with SRAM components, and wanted to see if there was anything that I should keep in mind/watch out for. Any advice would be much appreciated.

Here are the Specs:
2010 Cannondale CAAD8CX (frame, fork, headset, seatpost, stem and bars)
SRAM Force Brifters and Front Derailleur
SRAM Rival Rear Derailleur, Crankset, chain and Cassette
GXP BB
Avid/Tektro Canti Brakes

That's strange that the CAAD8CX does not come in BB30 when the rest of their stuff is all about stuffing BB30 down your throat. Also why Force shifters and FD with everything else Rival? You just have the stuff lying around?

The CAAD8 frame that I have came out right before they switched over to to the BB30 (they don't even sell my frame anymore). The reason I went with a split on the force/rival was price related, found some really good deals on the force components, was originally going to go all rival.

What came stock, formula hubs, no name rims. (bought it off a guy who sold the stock 105 group off it and sold me everything else)

Should be a solid build. I have the CX9 with older Ultegra as my race bike and love it.

So the guy you bought it from got the bike only to sell the group and then sell the rest of the bike?

He rode it for a season and decided that he wasn't into it, so he split it up and sold it.

I can vouch for how awesome SRAM is. A couple months riding it and I am converted, no more Campy or Shimano for me!

Here's my new CX/ touring build in CX mode. CAAD8 frame (needed the rack eyelets), rival, EA70 bars/stem, challenge 32 grifo tires. Waiting on handbuilt wheelset to be finished up. (please forgive the bottle cage ;-) )

This is how the build finished up. I have not weighed it, but I know that it is sub 20lbs. Right after the build I took it on a tour from NE Ohio to the east coast in DE. After that, I am sold on SRAM, it really turned out to be a nice build. Looking forward to trying to race some CX this fall.
