I spend entirely too much time in front of computers and thought riding a bike an hour a day would be beneficial for my body, since I do not like to walk for hours...
Was given a Pacific Titan Big Box Chinese bike, that was hanging in the patio of a neighbor's unit. Bike's front derailleur is out of adjustment, several broken spokes. I purchased a repair book, but not able to understand how to adjust this bottom pull unit with a plastic strap that will not properly fasten tightly around the seat tube. I tighten it, and 2 minutes later it is not tight like I think it should be tighten.
Since then I purchased several additional bikes, to acquire a matching set of crank arms, and newer wheels and tires, I am doing this on a nickel and a dime, and a complete bike has parts that are less expensive than visiting the bike Shop.
I am certain the bike Shop personnel can repair and adjust what I have, but I am trying to struggle along with what I have and learn via youtube, and reading material. .
Thus far I have managed to ride an hour a day early in the morning before the heat arrives in Vegas. Since we have had lovely March weather until the last several days, I may need to start the morning ride much earlier as the summer continues to advance...
I have also subscribed to two newsgroups that my news server carries-
