Hello everyone, it has been awhile since I posted. Had my first group ride last night. I am 365 pounds
and ride a newer HardRock with Slicks on it for the road. I also use Shimano SPD clipless pedals which I had not used since last year but thought I would on this ride (HA, GOOD IDEA) Only fell a few times at stop signs. Anyway, the ride is advertised as rolling terrain. 10.5 miles. Well I did it and lived. I was so excited when I got finished. I know it doesnt sound like much but it was the most climbing I had done in one ride so far. Hard to stand up and pedal when that suspension fork is moving. I am not too sore today except for my rearend (will be going to try out new seats next week at the LBS.) I am thouroghly addicted now.
Daniel

P.S. Is the consensus on these pedals are that they suck? They are the, I think $60 ones? It was increasingly harder to clip in as the ride went, clipping out was a crapshoot.

Do the pedals have an adjustment so you can clip in and out more easily?

Lock out the suspension if you can for road riding.

I do not have a fork with a lockout. I am about to buy a new solid fork for it but am trying to figure out how I put the new one on first before I buy it. The pedals do have an adjustment that I will be trying probobly tonite. Thank you. DP

No one has any idea what model of pedal you are using.

The Shimano M520 are quite popular (they don't suck).

(Have fun on future rides!)
