Hi all,
I have an old cup and cone bottom bracket on my 1989 World Sport. The spindle is super wobbly. I took it all apart and everything seems to be in working order (or at least I think).
Any tips as to how to adjust the bearings or whatever else is needed to have my spindle nice and tight again?
This bottom bracket is perplexing me and I can use any info that you can throw at me!
Thanks everyone!

Google is your friend. "bottom bracket adjustment" yields Sheldon Brown, Park tool pages, videos on adjustment and overhaul. Odds are you will need new parts and absolutely new ball bearings. Do not overlook the inspection part of the overhaul procedure.

To remove play, make sure fixed cup on right side is tight, then tighten adustable cup on left until play in spindle is gone but still tuns freely. Tighten lock ring on left side.

If there is no pitting on the spindle or cups and the bearings are still shinney you can reuse it. The adjustment should have a slight drag feel to it so that you prelosd the bearings.
