So what do you want a bite of right now?
It's multi selection, so choose as many as you like. :)
Oh and I'd have put in rhubarb but only had ten poll spaces and for the same reason pie also counts as cobbler and vice versa.
I had some nasty commercial coconut cream pei today, otherwise that'd be my choice.
Just finished off a BIG custard pie when this lobbed into the forum.

I'm having a beer. Does that make me pie-eyed?

It is custard based, looking at it from a cooking technique, chemical reaction, ingrediant, perspective. So is ice cream.
Beer cheesecake hmmm, well I made a japanese plum wine cheesecake so why not beer. A fruity Belgian should do right, maybe a bock.

Ice cream can be classified as a custard? I feel disillusioned.
I need to get my mom to make me an apple pie.

They make an extra rich ice cream variant called frozen custard actually. :p I don't like it, too rich, unless I have some rhubarb pie to go with it. :)
Carrot cake. Gotta eat yer vegatables!

Just how would the ingrediant list for that pie go? Would Bakers sell them in plain brown bags?

And all deserts are pudding but not all pudding is desert. In merry ol' England that is, it's vise versa in the new world.

I have to say my order is:
Greggs (in RI) heath bar crunch cake
Pumpkin and all those cakes
Chocolate cream pie (made the right way)
Eclair
Chocolate Mocha cheese cake
A triple Chocolate cake
Basically all you see here is from Greggs in Rhode island (except for the cheese cake, thats from joan and eds deli in Natick)
Damn now im hungry

I would understand. I love pecan pie. Actually, all of the southern pies. Anyone down with egg custard pie? I love that stuff, but otherwise is has too be sweet potato.
Oh and a really really really good, sugar free/ low sugar apple pie that my cousin makes. OMG you would think that sugar free means crap, its the best pie you will ever, ever taste. Thats sugar free.
Pumkin/sweet potato/other squash pie(mmm more custard) is for me...fresh as possible, the ingredients never hit the freezer.
and when i am on the road i endure these things

You know I made a custard rhubarb pie a while back and boy that was some good grub. Sweet custard countered with rhubarbs tangy freshness.
Oh and all custard is egg custard, custard by definition is a substance thickened by eggs. (Not everything thickened by eggs is a custard but all custards are thickened or setup in large part by eggs.)
And I've successfully modified my peach/stonefruit cobbler recipie into a apple cobbler recipie. Everyone around flips out when I cook because I am either cooking for a group or aiming for a couple days of quick eats(leftovers by design) and thus it seems like a huge amount of food (in this case I use 9-10 pounds of fresh fruit for one pan) but mysteriously the cobbler is eaten by the end of the 3rd day.(It's cool too. Lots of fruit, in season only, little sugar, whole wheat flour. Eat, ride, eat, ride, eat.)
I used to work in resturants and thus know how to calculate portions and batch sizes better than the average family cook. ramble ramble bla bla......

Custard pie always rocks. There's an awesome Chinese mini custard pie that is to die for, called "Don tot" (sp).
For some reason, when I think of custard pie, Hambone40 comes to mind.
Why pick? Just have them all! :D
