I just took a picture to post and went to upload and it says its too large. Can I resize? If so, how?

Im not real good with computers but if you have a Mac. you can resize it using iPhoto. I also know that lots of people post there pics on a website called Photo Bucket then on there you can resize for forums, then paste it to the manage attachments. etc. Not sure im any help i use iPhoto. with my Mac.
