I have the opportunity to buy a 36T small chainring to replace the 42T chainring on my 116 BCD campy double.

Is this an easy swap or am I missing something?

Will shifting suffer with such a big jump: 36 to 52 compared to 42 to 52.

My goal is to obatain lower gearing and this seems the cheapest route ($10 for chainring) compared to swapping out the freewheel.
