I want to share a recent experience that may be useful for other people with high blood pressure.

For a couple of weeks my blood pressure had been high. Normally it is around 120/70 but jumped and stayed high at 150-160/80-90. I measure it often and it was high at all times of the day everyday.

I was already eating a blood pressure lowering diet for months (vegetarian, zero salt, cooked from raw nearly always) and exercising everyday so it wasn't a lifestyle thing. My stress level had not gone up. I guess sometimes this just happens.

After browsing for solutions, I started slow breathing 15 minutes a day. i fill my lungs slowly and fully and then slowly let it all out. exhaling was at least twice the time of inhaling. First time i did this, my pressure was 166/90. 15 minutes later it was 110/51.

Now this is a great quick fix and sometimes a quick fix is necessary if there is a sudden dangerous situation, but it seems to have longer term effect too. after a few days i noticed the lowering lasted longer after i stopped the 15 mins slow breathing and now i'm back to a resting 120/70.
