UPDATE: The weather man is not cooperating for the second ride in our social ride series, the Taste of Downtown II, originally scheduled for Wednesday, June 9. With a 60% chance of heavy thunderstorms tomorrow, we are moving the ride to our rain date of Wednesday, June 16.

The second ride in Austin on Two Wheels' Summer Social Ride Series is the Taste of Downtown II, this Wednesday evening, and is a variation on a popular spring ride of the same name. This time the ride will be in the evening and will take in some different samples of the best locally made food our town has to offer. Stops will include great burgers samplers at Your Mom’s Burgers, Latin American cuisine at El Sol y La Luna, and dessert at Tart Frozen Yogurt. Vegetarian options will be available. All food and drink, bike valet, and professional ride guides as well as our series partner businesses coupon book are included in your registration. Dutch Bike rentals are available on the booking page.

TIME: Meet up at 6:30 PM, Leave at 7:00 PM (please arrive at least 15 minutes prior to departure for check-in). Ride will wrap up by approximately 10 PM
LOCATION: Austin City Hall, north side of building, 301 West 2nd St
COST: Online registration at http://livingontwowheels.org/tasteofdowntown2.html before ride day $20/person, Ride day cash only registration $25. Bring a friend and save $5! 2 persons registration: $35, Ride day cash registration $45.
Note about evening rides: This ride will end after sunset requiring everyone participating to bring a bike with the legal minimum of a working front light and rear reflector (rear light preferred.) If your bike does not have these minimums, you will not be allowed to ride with us. We will have a limited number of front and rear light sets for sale for $25 cash (tax included) at the beginning of the ride.

Stop will include restored original homes as well as more recent green additions and condos. A food stop will be provided by the Shuck Shack with stops at some additional neighborhood businesses and a brief presentation from Austin CarShare. We’ll end up back at Hope Market once the market is open for a selection of organic fruits and vegetables and locally made products.
