Folding Bikes - Rebranded Dahon at Performance Bike

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.
Just saw this in the latest Performance catalog. A rebranded Dahon with aluminum frame and a 7 speed dérailleur.

Is this a 'compare with Mariner D7' bike?

It's the alloy (post 2007) Mariner (euro Vitesse) frame sho' nuff, with the recent handlepost, and what appears to be the recent SunTour Neos D7 drivetrain.
Is that US price a bit hefty?
..Is that US price a bit hefty?

I'm losing track of what the dollar/euro are doing. Only a few years ago, we Yurpeans were dollar-rich. Now, we are Euro poor. My Vitesse was £300 new, about $431 in today's dough, so I suppose the rebranded bike is about the same price. It's about $50 cheaper than USA Amazon price for the Mariner, a snip!

Yes, it is a Dahon, but who is Performance buying it from - Dahon or Breezer???

I saw that in the Performance catalog that came last week, and was going to look it up but didn't follow thru.
The Breezer web site even lists in the component table Dahon-specific parts, so they don't even try to hide the identity of their supplier. The only thing missing from the Vitesse/Mariner line is the ArcLite rear rack.
As for price, they have skyrocketed. I purchased my 2007 Vitesse D7 (identical to the current Mariner) in January 2008 from Performance for $329 (clearance sale). Still, the early Fall pricing on that bike was only around $379 or so(??).
