hello everyone!!

I have been lurking around this forum for a few days now and I decided to join to enjoy the site better. I am new to this forum but not new to forum whatsoever..

A little about me, I did BMX for about 4 years until i broke my wrist! when i was 14.. then i started riding mountain bikes when i was like 16.. and now im getting into triathlons now..
anyways.. I am a college student at Louisiana tech and got into Tris about 4 months ago.. im thinking of buying a REALLY cheap.. i think im gonna buy a schwinn bike from walmart.. a buddy of mine has the varsity schwinn bike and its a u get for what u pay bike.. pretty solid to me.. and well, since im just getting started in this tri world.. if i really enjoy biking then i will start building my own bike from scratch..

thanks for reading!!

Pedro!

The Schwinn will do you OK if you go to the Park Tool website to make sure everything is adjusted right. Your performance in tri's will depend on the condition of your legs rather than the type of bike you are riding. The Schwinn will teach you what to look for in your next bike. Look on Craigslist or the websites of bike clubs in your area for used bikes when it is time to upgrade - building a bike from scratch is the most expensive way to go.
