Hybrid Bicycles - Space for mounting aero bars on flat bars? (+thinnest tires on 7.3??)

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. On flat mtb bars - how much space is there usually with 31.8mm diameter on each side of the clamp before it starts narrowing? For example this (http://www.ritcheylogic.com/dyn_prodfamily.php?k=358527) bar. I have aero bars whose clamps are apx 1.5cm wide..
Posting it in hybrid cause I'm modifying my 7.3...
BTW, what are the thinnest tires I can get on my 7.3? I've read somewhere 25mm, which would be great...

I have a 31.8mm flatbar almost identical to the bar you speak of ... with aerobars mounted.
When using a typical oversized stem, the space left on the bar before it starts narrowing is indeed quite small and this will limit the choice of mountable aerobars.
The aerobars I used are Profile Design Jammer GT and they fit, but only just about.
I posted some pictures of my setup in the pictures-thread ... maybe those can help you to visualise the available space?
