Hi,
I just recently started commuting by bike after picking up a 1995 Trek 730 a few weeks ago.
Living so close to work, commuting by bike is something I've been wanting to do for quite a while but I never knew how to start until I began reading several web pages and lurking around forums like this one. Before I began biking, I was driving everyday and for such a short distance, it just seemed unnecessary.
My commute is about 5 miles per trip, so I'll bike about 8~10 miles per day depending on what route I take. The roads here aren't bad and generally manageable for biking. It's been fun and I plan on keeping it up; I may even want to ride for leisure when I get the chance to take the bike out for some exploring.
