Howdy.
Just got a new Trek Valencia. Enjoying it so far. I also bought some new fenders to go on the bike: fenders (http://bontrager.com/model/04684).

When I tried to put the fenders on, they don't seem to fit. The wire bars that connect to the frame are longer than it seems they should be. My question is: am I supposed to bend these wires to get it to fit? It looks like I might have to bend them to get around the brake calipers are as well.

What kind of fenders? Are they too long, and sticking past the fenders? If so, measure 3 times, and cut them off at the right length. A small tubing cutter works very well.

The problem is that it doesn't attach to the fenders using little slots that it can slide through. I can cut them to fit, I was just wondering if they were meant to be modified of if I was doing something wrong.

Yes, they are meant to be sized to fit, as most bikes are a little bit different.

Someone might know this: does the Valencia require a disk brake specific rear rack? It looks like, due to the way the brakes are mounted, it can take a regular rack.
