Pacific Northwest - Recommended riding around Bend, Oregon?

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.
I am heading up to Sunriver/Bend for a week this summer and I'd love to get some riding in. Anyone local have recommended rides, clubs, etc.? I was planning to bring my road bike, but I'm also thinking about bringing my mountain bike if it might be worth it...
Thanks in advance!
Road biking up to Mt. Bachelor & the Three Sisters is a popular ride (as is McKenzie pass when the gates are closed to cars). However, leave the road bike and bring your mountain bike. Bend is supposed to have some of the best mountain biking in the US.
There are TONS of incredible trails in the area. I like the Paulina rim trail and trail along Paulina Creek in the Newberry Volcanic Monument. Mt. Bachelor has a lot of riding & may even have a ski lift open for downhillers (there are also a lot of single track trails and fire roads around the mountain). The McKenzie river and Umpqua river trails are also incredible. Smith Rock is a HUGE rock climbing destination and has some mountain biking trails around the base.
Google "mountain biking in Bend, OR" for a sampling of your various options. Multiple stores and outfitters offer shuttle service from Bend or Sunriver to & from the trailheads.

Lot's of road rides can be found here (http://www.co.deschutes.or.us/go/objectid/D9531619-BDBD-57C1-92865E7D3C09D97F/index.cfm#sisters).
My favorite is route 2B in the Sunriver section (in reverse). Climbs out of Sunriver up to Mt. Bachelor then down through some incredible scenery past the Cascade Lakes regions.
Another nice ride is the Newberry Crater route (# 19.)
There is not a lot of services out that way (only a couple fishing 'resorts') so pack accordingly. However, the traffic is extremely light on the roads which is a nice change.
Thanks guys. I am looking forward to the trip and I will plan to bring my mountain bike as well.

Leave the road bike home - the mountain biking down there is fantastic. Check out http://www.cotamtb.com/
You might also pop over to the Oregon forum on MTBR (www.mtbr.com (http://www.mtbr.com)) if you have questions about specific trails.
